Greenhorizons was consulted to restore the playing surface adjacent to newly constructed classrooms and provide a solution for an unsafe soccer field. It was agreed Greenhorizons would remove the existing poor topsoil, regrade sub-grade to allow the final design to have a crown for positive surface drainage. Greenhorizons enhanced topsoil was imported including an engineered sand cap to help minimize compaction. Greenhorizons incorporated a stabilization compound to improve center field and goal mouth wear.
Greenhorizons was able to implement a “push-up” design working around a newly expanded parking lot area which hindered the original sheet drainage plan.
The completed field has established very well with improved drainage and wet weather playability and durability.
