Research & Development

Greenhorizons Sod Farms is committed to the research and development of sod and ground cover solutions. We conduct research in association with the University of Guelph Co-Op Program on all aspects of our industry: soils, grass seed, fertilizer and cover crops. Our Burford Specialty Turf Farm has been developing some of the industry’s highest performing new blends of sod including our NEW Spectrum Sod, GHG Eco Turf, GHG Pure Fine Fescue, GHG Camel Grass and MORE!

All Greenhorizons Sod Farms are Green Certified and are subjected to periodic audits. The standards set for certification include water management, nutrient management, pesticide use, soil condition, erosion, record-keeping, documentation, worker safety and standard operating procedures. This program ensures Greenhorizons meets or exceeds industry standards.

When it comes to providing turfgrass for Professionals, we focus on two things: convenience and quality. We work closely with our customers to ensure their expectations are met and exceeded. We are Southern Ontario’s largest sod producer with five production locations.

Our deep logistics systems make it easy to have farm fresh sod delivered to a site in as little as 24 hours. Our fleet is ready and willing to make the impossible possible and provide a level of service unmatched in the sod industry. Simple, fast sod pick-up is also available at four distribution centres throughout Southern Ontario.
