Over 30 years ago, Compact Sod looked to expand their reach and when Hamilton Sod came up for sale, Steve jumped at the chance to grow another farm, so they combined the two; Hamilton Sod and Compact Sod, and created Greenhorizons Sod Farms – now one of the most respected sod and soil companies.

The Schiedel brothers have done just about everything when it comes to agriculture, from pigs and dairy to cash crops and of course sod.

This acquisition in Hamilton doubled the available land for cultivating sod and made Greenhorizons a household name in Hamilton and the surrounding area.
