Spring Overseeding: Revitalize your Lawn

Spring is a great time to overseed your lawn and repair some of those damaged or thinned-out areas that typically follow after winter. Spring overseeding takes place in April and May since temperatures are cooler and typically bring more rainfall. Because of this, its the perfect time to overseed, as you do not need to diligently water your lawn on a daily basis. Spring overseeding also helps to revitalize your lawn and give it those much needed nutrients for the upcoming season! At Greenhorizons, we believe our products should be both convenient and of premium quality. With this in mind, we wanted to create an easy and cost-effective way of getting you all of the necessary supplies, all without compromising quality. Therefore, we created the Overseeding Bundle!

Spring Overseeding: What’s Included in the Bundle? 

Our overseeding bundle includes a bag of professional top dressing mix, two bags of seed starter fertilizer, one bag of overseeding lawn seed, and two walk softly signs. 

BigYellowBag Professional Top Dressing Mix

Our top dressing mix is a high quality mixture of peat and specialty sand. We mix together the perfect ratio to provide excellent growth to existing turf and lawns. Though originally developed for architects, golf courses, and landscapers, our high quality top dressing mix is now available to homeowners!

10-25-10 Seed Starter Fertilizer

This fertilizer promotes strong and quick root growth on new grass and existing lawns. The N-P-K numbers (nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium) are 10-25-10. Phosphorus is the main nutrient needed for root development. This is the reason the middle number is so high. Because of this, this fertilizer is the best choice when overseeding or establishing a new lawn. Each bag is 2 kg or 4.4 lb.

Overseeding Lawn Seed

Our selected blends of grass cultivars will give you professional results. Thick green grass with begin to grow in the bare spots on your lawn. Our lawn seed is a selected blend of Kentucky Bluegrass, Creeping Red Fescue, and Perennial Ryegrass. It is mixed carefully to suit our local Southern Ontario climate and a variety of turf requirements. Within 18 months, your grass can be thick and dark blue/green in colour – just like sod! This seed comes in bags of 4.54 kg or 10 lb.
