This has been one of the latest spring harvest starts we have ever had at Greenhorizons Sod Farms. This past winter lingered on a lot longer than normal. As a result, you will notice in the video that the grass hasn’t fully greened up yet. Our fields always take longer to green up in the spring than in the city. The small difference in temperature from the city to our farms makes that much of a difference and delays the sod field green up.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We use a fully automated Trebro<\/a><\/strong> Sod Harvester to harvest our sod<\/strong>. Company-wide, we have 6 of these harvesters which, we have been told, is the most any one company owns. In order to control the Harvester, you must use two joysticks, each with eighteen buttons. Basically, you could call this the ultimate gamers’ dream job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
